There are few shows I find myself committing time, heart, and a mindset to, but Eureka from SyFy was one of those such shows. Eureka was the type of show that truly combined comedy, drama, and science fiction in such a way to make it enjoyable. SyFy aired the final show of Eureka on Monday, 7/16.
While I truly enjoyed the show as I always do, there was just not enough time to wrap up all the story lines the way they deserved to be and found that this left such a hole (or wormhole in the case of the last episode) to be done in just an hour.
Jack and Allison find content in staying in Eureka with a new baby of Jack’s on the way, once they find out that Grant, the mysterious but over the top character from the Past, buys Eureka from the government to save it. Even though Holly died, was brought back to life artificially with both a synthetic body, and a futuristic brain, ends up being with Fargo in the end, as they took on new jobs together traveling the world. Zane and Lupo finally get past the communication barriers when Lupo asked Zane to marry her from the very jail cell that Zane was in when they first met. Henry gets his wife Grace back after an anonymous tip releases her from the charges against her, and he also gets the privilege of heading up Global Dynamics after Grant asks him if he wants to help change the world. Jack sees the realization of his daughter growing up and graduation from Harvard for when there was a time that it took all he had to keep her out of trouble.
Even Taggart the crazy Scientist guy gets to make a appearance on the final show. So by bringing him back, Beverly, Zoe, and Grant, it seemed like they tried to wrap up everything as best they could. Eureka, you will be missed, not by just one fan, but hundreds of thousands of fans, that truly believe to have big outcomes, you have to dream big first, and that’s okay! So I thank SyFy for bringing me a show that brought out the creativity in me, but am also saddened to see it go without getting the finish I think it truly deserved.
Thanks for the trip, it was enjoyable, and a show I won’t ever forget. So what do you think of Eureka being gone? Will you miss it? What other recent shows do you think were taken away before their time? Discuss them below, let me hear what you think!
