I have said it in previous years, and even really tried a few times, but this year I really want to lose some weight. I want to make it my primary resolution, and I want to make a change. I am having a hard time getting started though. I feel like the task is so overwhelming that why should I try? I don’t want to think about it that way, trust me. I just feel that I am going to set myself up for failure before I even try. Sad, huh? In the past, I never really had a problem trying to tackle things, I found being a Paramedic gave me the ability to think outside the box, and always find a solution, as we often had to do on a daily basis. But now that I am retired from being a Paramedic, (not that I really want to be) I find that I need to find a way to motivate myself into getting it done.
I have broken it down several times, trying not to think about the bigger picture of the total amount of weight I want to lose, but to break it down into smaller sections and try for that, but alas again, my mind starts racing, and I fail myself before I even try. So I thought I would bring it to all of you, and ask for a post of support, something inspirational, a quote, something you have done, things that have helped you, or events that have changed your life.

So do you have an iOS app that you like to use, a computer program, do you use a daily planner? What are your inspirations? and inspire me, please! As always thanks to all of you for being here, have a great day, and remember to smile!

Hi Tom,
My most successful diet to date has been doing the Daniel Fast with my church. I find that with God in the mix, I’m more compelled to stick with it.
For more information about it…check out this post: Daniel’s Fast

My recommendation is to start slow. Tell yourself you will workout 10 minutes a day everyday for the next week. Put the day you will stop on the calendar and reward yourself with something nice that makes you happy that you wouldn’t normally do like a spa treatment etc. Then at the end of the week raise it to 15-20 min etc. keep doing this every week or so and rewarding yourself until you are at about 30 min. per session. Also try to find a routine you enjoy. I personally like Dance Dance Revolution or some of the Wii fitness games like EA Sports: ACTIVE. Try to make workouts into a game and then it’s fun and not so much work!
Good luck!
