Well, not exactly speechless, I do have to describe that thought! One thing I love about adventure games, that if done correctly can capture your mind and imagination and delve you deep into a world unlike your own, filled with mystery, suspense, and intrigue. “Lost Echo” by KickBack-Studios, does just that, and more.
Over the years I have played allot of adventure games, from the beginnings of Zork, to Castle Adventure on my PC Jr., to Starflight and Ultima 4, on my Tandy 1000 on up to current day systems, and I have enjoyed them all, but to find something to play on the go, on my iPad, that captured my thoughts and interest was easily done with this game.
Based out of Greece, this indie company has taken the idea of a point and click adventure game for the iOS and ran with it. With detailed graphics that work on devices as old as the 3gs, here is a company that has looked out for its customers, by not also making it to work on older devices, but not making “free to play” where yes, you get to play for free, but to advance far in the game you really need to buy additional items, they avoided all of this and decided to promote it themselves, and try to make it available to as many people who wanted to play it.
Description:
In the near future Greg’s girlfriend Chloe mysteriously disappears in front of him. He starts a desperate search for her. What happened? Why does no-one else remember her? Solve puzzles, explore fully 3d environments, interact with numerous characters and solve the mystery! Lost Echo, is a story driven, point and click adventure game designed for iPhone and iPad.
And as you can see by some of the screenshots below, the game gives you that instinctive feeling to explore and solve the puzzles to see why all of this became to be.
Currently, my character is searching for his girlfriend Chloe, nobody he knows so far, knows what happened to her, or that she even existed, all items linking to her are gone from his life, pictures, clothes at this apartment, even her job doesn’t know where she is. All he remembers is a flash of light, and waking up in a hospital right now.
When you first start the game, you can choose if you would like your puzzles to be easier, with prompts of what to look at, or more difficult, where you find everything on your own! I like this choice as well, gives someone who may have never played a game like this a chance to acclimate to it.
I am currently stuck on a puzzle, that I am trying to figure out. Will be playing the game more tonight as well. The game is crisp, clean, easy to navigate, has an intriguing story line, and would be a joy for those who love adventure games, to those who never played looking for somewhere to start. So I give this game 5 out of 5 stars, because I am actually eager to get back to it to play, and because I am really an adventure game and sci-fi geek all rolled into one! I am really hoping this indie studio starts producing more games like this one, will be a customer in the future for sure.
Grab this to add to your game collection for only $2.99 today, well worth the price, I really hope they make more!
