On February 10th, I turn 45. I have done some amazing things in my life, I have served in the Military, I am a Veteran of Desert Storm/Shield, I am also a 23+ year veteran Paramedic, who has served Hospitals, Cities, and Occupational Medicine. I am happily married, and going on 12 years this October. I have had the chance to do some things I have always wanted, like see the Harlem Globetrotters live, I have met Vice President Dan Quayle, Colin Powell, General Norman Schwarzkopf (twice) both times in Desert Storm.
But Alas, for all the great things I have done in life, I am sure there are 10 more that I have missed. So that is where all of you come in, what are some things I need to try? and why? I would love examples of things that you have done, and why you did them, and if you would do it again? I would love to know what extremes you would go to do something, and if it is something I should do too!
What I hope to do is be able to take some of your suggestions, and write stories about them this year as I complete them, so bring some original fresh thoughts, share them here, and let’s see what I can do to keep life going, and re-charge this spirit to continue life’s adventures?

I had never been on a rollercoaster. I know hard to believe because im 50 but im afraid of heights. My husband loves them. I decided after I went through treatment for cancer I wasnt going to be afraid of things anymore because I had just been through the worst. So I had my husband take me on the rollercoaster at Mall of America. I know its not the biggest one in the world but its a start! I LOVED IT! Who knew lol!

First of all: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I know you said you liked road trips, but have you ever been to Europe?
When I found out I was in remission from cancer, I asked my husband to go on a trip of a liftime with me. We went on an 8 day tour of Europe trip & it was one of the best trips of our lives!!! Just seeing & eating the different foods was worth it. Most people there speak English, as a matter of fact, they know at least 3 languages.
This is just a suggestion – have fun in whatever you decide!

Never been to Europe, always wanted to go, mostly around Greece, Italy, I always wanted to see the Coliseum, and the Library of Alexandria, maybe one day, we currently only have the passport cards, we would need to upgrade to do that! Thanks for the wonderful comment!

Something that MANY people have never done, but might have had flittering thoughts about is, having a weekly thematic study of the Bible. I’m sure you’ve had questions yourself about the future, especially as you get into your late 40’s, and would like to know the answers. Well, if so, go to the www . jw . org and request a free home Bible study! You’ll be ever so glad you did!
Out of the 168 hours we ALL are given each week, spending a meager half hour or so weekly to do this, is one way we can give back to Our Creator and Life Giver!

That is a wonderful idea, and something I think we all should do Cynthia, thanks so much for taking time in sharing it! Have a fantastic day!

Visit a local historic home…I’m always surprised by them and feel they get overlooked in the “tourism” area. One we visited had one of the first elevators ever installed in a private home and an Art Deco bathroom that was gorgeous.
Have you ever attended an auction? I’ve only done it once but I was glad I did and wish we had time to do it more. Again, you never know what treasure you might find…maybe something that doesn’t mean anything to anyone else, but you know it’s for you.

2 great ideas! I do a lot of thrift stores, and a few yard sales, but I still want to go to auction! Awesome idea! And visiting a historic home I have done a few, but no major ones! I should start a list and blog about them! Great idea!
