6 Home Accessories to Put On Wheels
Caster wheels are an excellent way to move things quickly, easily and without back-breaking labor. In fact, they’re so simple to use that they can be applied to several areas throughout the home for easier living overall. If you aren’t afraid of a little DIY, here are six household items that go great with wheels.
1: Desks
Throw the rules of feng shui out the window when you mobilize your desk. Angle it to watch the game as you finish off reports; put your back to the door when you’re in the middle of a serious work crunch; take it to the balcony when you want the ambiance of the sunset.
2: Storage Bins
A few standard plate casters can turn an entire afternoon of hauling into a simple push to the garage. They’re perfect for both spring cleaning marathons and post-holiday packing when you’re taking down all the ornaments and tinsel.
3: Baby Cribs
Rock your baby to sleep without having to physically pick her up and walk around in the wee hours of the morning. By putting wheels on the crib, you can doze in a nearby armchair and send her off into dreamland with the barest back-and-forth motion of your foot.
4: Workbenches
The next time you’re in the garage, think about how much easier your repairs and home improvement projects would become if you were able to wheel around your workbench. It wouldn’t take much, either, just a few industrial or directional lock casters. One change could completely transform the way you create!
5: Chairs
Your desk chair is probably already on wheels, but what about your favorite La-Z Boy? What about the chair in front of your bedroom vanity table? There’s no limit to the furniture you can mobilize with the right tools and a penchant for fun. Make everything swivel! Go nuts!
6: Toy Boxes
If your child has ever tried to tell you that they can’t clean their room because such-and-such is too heavy to move or this-and-that is too high, then boy, are they in for a treat. Put their toy boxes on wheels and establish an official Toy Boy Corner for the end of playtime. They’ll have no excuses not to tidy up anymore.
These are just six ways caster wheels will change the way you work, read and play. Click here to learn more about the various designs and get yourself started.

We put our chest coffee table on wheels so that it can easily be moved out of the way for playing the Wii. Helps with the mopping, too!

Wow, never thought of doing that!! Any of these would make my life so much easier!! Especially with the baby crib!! Now I can move the crib around and she will fall asleep faster like she does when we are driving in my car.

This is giving me incentive to get back to my projects from last year. We got all of the supplies to put caster wheels on an outdoor table that my husband uses while grilling. Thanks for the incentive!
