I don’t think I do enough to express where I came from, what I have learned, and what life has taught me. I want this to be the first of many of a new line of posts to let you know, you don’t have to feel like there is no hope, or possibility of accomplishing what you set your goals for.
“You will know” is a simple phrase that can leave a lot to be interpreted sometimes. Often times it is over analyzed and you miss the point it was trying to give you in the first place. More times than none, the best answer is often the simplest one, the one we might dismiss because it seems too easy.
When asking questions growing up, my mom would often say to me “You will know” and I would always give her that blank stare back, thinking mom, what are you talking about? Now, I wish I still was able to hear her say that to me time to time. Looking back now, I do understand. I understand, that you will just “know”. I took for granted the relationship that I could have had with my mother before she died, and now I “know” what that did to hurt me. So foremost, I want to thanks to my mom, for giving me the hope and understanding of knowing what things are supposed to mean in life, and take them in stride.
So what are you supposed to take from all of this? Feeling like you don’t have all the answers, and feeling like things aren’t going the way they are supposed to, are natural feelings we all go through. “Knowing” how to read all the signs, and the emotions we feel are par for the course. Never think that the answer is not there, it’s just not there now! Patience is key, and while patience can seem like it takes it sweet time, and trust me, it can feel that way, it will be more rewarding in the end.
For example:
I really tried to push the pace of this blog. You have no idea how bad I wanted everyone to say, “hey, did you see what was going on over at A Medic’s World?” , and I kept an artificial pace of trying to make it succeed. What happened was that I lost the reason of why I started this blog to start with, and that was for people to find me, and see what I had to say was worth hearing. Now that I stopped overlooking the easiest answer in this case, the “You will know” kicked back in, and this will be me doing what is right for Tom Shewbridge, and A Medic’s World.
You see, I love all that I have done on this Blog, all the reviews, all the giveaways, but I need to get back to the core of why I started it. I love to write! Ever since I was a kid, I was imagining stories, and writing to make me happy. I am going to start doing that again.
“You will know” can take on a meaning that is different for everyone, but for me, it was this post, I knew, I needed to start fresh again, with this post.
So do you have a “You will know” moment, you would like to share? I would love to hear about them, would love to know what makes my readers/followers tick! ~Tom
