Over my years of being a Paramedic, I have responded to many scenes involving fires and smoke inhalation when families were exposed to minutes worth of smoke while trying to grab the family and exit the house. The Saver Emergency Breath System, allows you to give your family a way to breathe and calmly exit your house that is currently on fire.
Note: This product is no longer for sale or available. The company that made it has gone out of business. I am leaving the review because I did receive the product to test and write about. Thanks for being part of Tom’s Take On Things. ~Tom (6/17/2018)
It is estimated that 50–80% of fire deaths are the result of smoke inhalation injuries, including burns to the respiratory system. The hot smoke injures or kills by a combination of thermal damage, poisoning and pulmonary irritation and swelling, caused by carbon monoxide, cyanide and other combustion products.
As you can see with the stat given above, having something to protect you and your family is essential, in order to survive a fire. Safety iQ has created such a system, and I feel it is an investment worth making in the protection of everyone you love.
I was given an opportunity to review the Saver Wall-Mounted 4-Person Set here at A Medic’s World. I am going to share my thoughts on the product, and give an honest opinion on the effectiveness of it.
How does it work? In the slideshow below you can see how the system is meant to be used. When you decide where you want to mount this system, or if you were to purchase a set that came in the drawstring bag, first you have to have an evacuation plan. It is essential that every family, have a plan in place, with a backup plan in case an exit is blocked or inaccessible. Once this is established, discussing how to use this product effectively is your next course of action. The four-person kit is designed exactly for that, a one-time use for 4 people. You can buy extra modules, and kits depending on the size of your family.
As with any emergency, I recommend setting yourself up or your spouse first. Just like in an airplane, you will not do anyone any good if you can’t help them because you passed out first. The mouthpiece with the filter inside gives you up to 5 minutes to evacuate as quickly and safely as you can. With the included flashlight in the kit, you will be able to have a clearer view of where you need to go based on your evacuation plan. The Flashlight has a built-in siren, to alert family, and Rescue Personnel, where you are.
The 4-person kit I received to review retails at $269, a small investment in my opinion for the protection and well being of you and your family. Other kits, including single units vary in price. Once the unit is used, a new kit will need to be purchased, as nothing can be replaced in the kit. It can be purchased and used in the United States, Canada, and Internationally as well.
Breaking down everything it does, the protection it can offer you during a fire in your home, and the peace of mind that can be achieved knowing it is there, I think this would make a great addition to any home, condo, apartment, or boat. These could also be effectively used in office buildings, hospitals, factories, and more. Be sure to visit Safety iQ on the web, on Facebook, and Twitter.

So, it’s 2018 and I just saw three of these as individual units for $19.99 a piece. I have never seen anything about these and started looking on line. I can locate next to no reviews other then canned reviews like this and none from anyone who’s actually tested one. No information I found was newer the 2015-16. What happened to this product? Was this product a scam? I would think that if these actually worked as advertised they would be EVERYWHERE.

Hi Nathan,
The product was not a scam. I still have mine, even though the expiration date has passed on it. The device had merit. I believe in a true emergency situation that I was not able to simulate that it would have worked. Now and days my review processes have changed and I can now provide more video and better reviews than I could back then.
The company had a website, full of information. I think a couple of things went wrong. Firstly, I don’t think they reached out to enough people to get the word out about the product. I fully believed that in an emergency that this product would have worked. Without successful coverage, I think it was doomed to fail. Secondly, I think the cost factor would keep many people from buying this, even though it could save you or your family’s life.
It is sad that this did not stick around. Again, as far as testing it, if they sent me one to test outside of the actual packaged product, I might have been able to provide more information. Again, my reviews are evolving with more video and coverage. I will take the canned review comment from you with a grain of salt. I only recommend products I believe in or would use myself. I have turned down countless reviews of things that I just wouldn’t trust anyone to use.
Thanks for the insightful comment. If I had more people like you, this site would be even better and more exciting for me to run.
I will be updating the review with a statement that the product is no longer available. Thanks for your comment again, and have a great day.
