There is a new lander heading to Mars in March of 2016. So why send your name with the rover? Why not? is the better question I think. I truly think this will help boost excitement about our Space Program, and maybe get more kids involved with learning about our planet, our solar system, and our universe.
InSight will was designed to look at the interior of Mars, and continue to see how some of the Rocky Mountains were formed. My name is now on the list of people heading to Mars in 2016, and my wife is adding hers as we speak as well. Make sure you sign up your name on the list here. You have to register before midnight EST on September 8th to make sure you get added. You will even get boarding passes for your very own that you can print, like the ones of me and my wife’s below. This would be great for little ones to take to school to show their friends to say, “hey, my name will be on its way to Mars!”.

Here is a picture of the rover being built below, it will be on it’s way to Mars next year.
