Finding items as unique as this one is difficult sometimes because you might just not know where to look. Well, I am going to help you out, and point you in the right direction. The Fifty United Plates Collection from the Corbe Company, offers a selection of Porcelain Plates for every State of the United States from their website.
My wife and I are always trying to find novelty items that we can use for when we entertain here at home. This definitely fits that motive, and here is a picture below that illustrates how we used it to display some tortilla chips for consumption.
The plate I received for the review came very well packaged, and you can tell by the way it was protected that the company stood behind what it made, as each one is hand-made right in Detroit, Michigan. The duo behind it all, Kaitlyn and Ryan Lawless, ensures that:
Pairing the best technology offerings of our era with good old-fashioned “handufacturing” is our life’s work. Ceramic wares and storied objects from our hands to yours – use them, live with them, they’re for you.
When you hold the plate, and feel it, you can appreciate the time and effort they took to ensure that you would enjoy it as much as they would. Here are some pictures below of how well it came packaged and protected.
Each state will have a size based on the dimensions of that state, and will serve it’s purpose in different ways depending on the way you use it for cooking, baking, or using it for parties like we will. The characteristics that stand out, and the thought process behind each one to make sure it functions as it should, is all highly thought out.
With each plate being food safe, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and oven safe up to 450 Degrees Fahrenheit, each porcelain dish can last years and be a conversation piece that can be handed down for generations to come. Find your own plate, among others, as they also carry World Plates as well on their website here.
So which state would you choose? Wouldn’t this make a great housewarming gift for someone? Share your thoughts below. ~Tom
