I love watching the show Shark Tank on ABC. I truly like seeing what products like LuminAid does, and if they affect the Sharks in any way. Mark Cuban believed in them, and so do I, and I am happy to be able to have a chance to share this review with all of you today.
I like innovative products. I like things that are inspired out of need and function. LuminAid not only created products that can help us all stay in the light, but also gives us a chance to help light the world by giving us an opportunity for us to donate one to someone who could benefit from it around the globe.
LuminAID PackLite 16
This is a re-design of their original product. This new and improved version takes their original concept to the next level. Having tested this one myself, I can honestly say it is one of the best designed and manufactured products I have seen in some time. As you will see in some of the photos I share, you will see it in it’s folded up form, unfolded, inflated, and then functioning. It was extremely easy to use, all I did was blow it up with a good burst of air from my lungs, and it was ready to go. It already had a charge to it, so needing to have it in the sun was not required to test it. Being that it can hold a charge for some time, it is extremely efficient. Check out some of the best features of it below.
- Up to 32 Hours on Flashing setting, which is perfect to use for emergency situations. If you are lost, or roadside with a flat tire, you can use this as a signaling device.
- 6 Hours LED light on Extra Bright setting. 10 Hours LED light on High setting. 30 Hours LED light on Low setting.
- Fully recharges in 7 hours of Direct Sunlight.
- Waterproof up to 1 meter deep and can float, imagine being able to use these in the pool, for midnight dipping, or in a hot tub, or tethered to a rope in a lake?
- For an extra $10 donation, you can provide one of these to someone who would need it around the world. Help make a difference.
LuminAID PackLite 12
This is the one I like the best. This LuminAid Packlite, is compact in form, but expands into a lantern shaped cube. Perfect for Tents, Campers, using it as a light source if you have a broken down car or SUV. No matter what you use it for, imagine a design that is built tough, and meant to last. With the adjustable strap that keeps it closed, it can be used to hang from a back pack, an emergency first aid bag, or from a loop in the top of the tent, or maybe even a tree branch. With all the purposes that it has, having a couple of these in different locations would be important to make sure you are ready for anything. This is going into my Emergency First Aid bag I keep in my Nissan X-terra. Check out some of the features below.
- Up to 32 Hours on the Flashing setting which is great for those situations where you might need to use it as a beacon, to help others try and find you if you were lost, or broken down somewhere.
- 6 Hours LED light on Extra Bright setting. 8 Hours LED light on High setting, 12 Hours LED light on Low setting.
- Fully Recharges in 7 hours of direct sunlight.
- Just like the other sized LuminAid Light it is Waterproof, and can float.
- And for an extra $10 you too can donate one of these to be used by relief efforts around the world.
Check out the video review from Youtube of me testing it in Flashing Mode. Be sure to share the review and video with others. ~Tom
So should you make the leap and make this part of your home, camping excursion, or emergency first aid kit? I say yes. With how its made, it’s many uses, and the fact that it runs on good Solar Energy which is free, an investment into the LuminAid Portable Solar Powered Lights would be good for you, your family, or get them as a gift for someone who would benefit from them.
Do you watch Shark Tank? Do you remember seeing the girls on the show pitch these? and Mark Cuban making a deal with them?

This is a really cool device! One of the most innovative I have seen recently. We live in a storm prone area. Tornadoes are a threat at almost anytime of the year and the power goes out at inoppertune times so we always try to have flashlights and other equipment stowed. But I also just like to be outside at night during the warmer months!
Debbie White Beattie says
I would use these at the cottage because there’s no hydro just a generator for emergency use. It’s definitely a roughing it cottage along with an outhouse. So these LuminAid Packlites would be perfect!

After reading the review, I can think of more and more things this can be used for by us. We have a lot of power outages where I live. That would be my biggest usage I’m sure. But I could also use it in the tub to shave. I am in a shadow & keep trying things to help out. This would be ideal. It would be great when my husband goes in the crawl space and attic to see if there is any water damage or animal/pest problem. The usages are endless. Great product. We loved it on Shark Tank and really wanted one when we saw it. It’s definitely one of the best products that has been on Shark Tank.
Sophia,M.,McConnery says

That does give off quite a bit of light. I’m looking to replace items in my car. I had a great emergency roadside kit that was stolen. That and important personal vehicle paperwork. That has been replaced, but I’m ticked about the kit being taken.

belinda bell says
I love these lights. and the fact that they are solar is a bonus
Elaine Breault says
Definietely going to buy, use and give to others so all family members can always have them for a 1st Aid, Emergency and/or Survival Kit. Then they can go start getting more of them for every person, house, vehicle and more. The greatest thing every especially here in Sunny California where the use/energy of solar power is an everyday thing in use for houses, buildings, schools, parking and more all over the state right now. It is needed not just wanted for all types of uses and situations and it recharges in sunlight so it is a free renewable source of energy. Once you have it the complete use is free since sunlight costs nothing. Fantastic. Just wonder why something like this was not in use ages ago. But it is a never too late to use product.
Mia says
Neat that it is waterproof and can hold a charge for so long. I agree it is a good product to have in the car emergency kit.
Colt Freeman says
Interesting
Dorothy Teel says
What a good idea for emergency lighting and I like that you pointed out the cons of how hard it was to read recharging information, I like that they are portable and would be great in an emergency
rochelle haynes says
