To fill it with beer, or not fill it with beer? that is the question. When we think of a growler, most of us think of what type of beer we can put into it, to keep it cold.
Don’t get me wrong, when I was offered a chance to review this stainless steel growler from EcoVessel, I wanted to delve into my fond interest of trying new craft beers and seeing what I could do to start a hobby that might get this item filled several times.
I know what you must be thinking. What if I don’t like beer? That’s okay, I am not going to hold it against you too much, but you can use this for so much more.
This growler holds an impressive 64oz of liquid whether it be hot or cold. If you go the hot route, you can use it for Hot Coffee, Hot Cocoa, or just bring along some hot water, in case you want to make your own where ever you go. It will keep it hot up to 8 hours, perfect for that long day at work, or maybe that road trip across country.
Let’s talk about cold. Up to 32 hours cold. That can be beer, water, soda, juice or tea. Are you someone who likes to infuse flavor into their water, or tea? You can with this growler, as it comes with a removable infuser, that you can add fruit, flavorings, or herbs to.
The top has two lids, one that is larger to fill it with, and one that is smaller to drink out of. With the lid attached to the growler and screwed on, the loop makes a convenient carrying strap, to bring it with you.
Does it work? I will tell you that I am a bit skeptical when something says it can keep it cold for up to 32 hours. I went into this not sure how I would think about it after a few hours of letting it sit. So I filled it up with some cold water from the refrigerator, closed up the lid, and tried not to think about it for a little while. I had planned to go back after a few hours and see how it did after that time period. What happened? I forgot about it, till the next day.
So I woke up the next day, and there it was sitting on the kitchen counter, I did forget about it, not on purpose mind you, but inevitably I did all the same. So what was the result 14 hours later? It was still ice cold! I was truly shocked, pleasantly surprised, and sort of relieved, that it would make writing this review so much easier.
I do hope to find some craft beer to put into this growler. I want to see how well it does, the only problem is finding a place near Brunswick, Ohio that I can get it filled at, and not have to purchase a glass one or one from the brewery to use instead. If you know any places like that, let me know, and leave me a comment below.
Whatever you decide to use this for, I believe it will get the job done. It comes in 4 colors, black/blue/silver/green. There is an optional flip spout straw lid top available as well, if you prefer that over the screw off cap.
You can grab yours from Amazon here if you would like, and choose what color you would like to have. I chose black for the purpose of my review.
I can see getting a good deal of use out of this growler, and think it would make an excellent gift idea as well, especially those into craft beers, and a way to bring some to a party, and keep it cold.

I have seen so much on growlers lately. I honest to goodness cant figure them out if it is some kind of thermos thingy or what. I am familiar with ecovessel, and they have great products.
I am somewhat surprised at the fliptop straw, as I am not sure about thats and beer but if you were using it for other things it would work really well. I like the idea of the infuser though, thats pretty nifty.

Ellen, most growlers like this one are not insulated. You fill them, take them home and refrigerate them, or use them to drink from right away. With this one, you can keep it cold for up to 36 hours. It has so many uses though!
