The Holidays and Christmas time are supposed to be filled with family, friends, good tidings, and joy. The thought of dressing the tree, hanging stockings, and making cookies are just some of the things we should focus on. We all know there is a good deal of negativity out there between those fighting, terrorist attacks, and even what we might find within ourselves.
Let’s unite and take back the holidays for what they are, a happy time filled with love, excitement, family, and friends.

We love getting together on Christmas Eve and having a wrapping party. Then the whole family gets together for Christmas to open presents, have dinner and play games.
We love the advent we ake each year
Having Christmas dinner with family is one of my favorite traditions.
We hide a pickle ornament on the tree. The child who finds the pickle gets a special gift, usually a game or DVD to share with the rest.
My favorite family holiday tradition is opening a single gift on Xmas Eve and the rest on Xmas Day.

My favorite time of the holidays is watching my family’s joy as they open gifts.
It reinforces how close we are and how well I know each of them because I always get them exactly what they love.
We get together on Christmas Eve for a huge meal and to play the Santa Snatch game.
We always get a real Christmas tree. My husband takes hours to pick out the perfect tree. I have been told it is quite a process.
I can remember many years of stencilling the windows as we decorated the tree,.

It’s not a “tradition”, per se, but we always go to Holy Mass for Christmas (and on all Sundays and Holydays) to celebrate our Lord and His loving kindness and mercy. Thanks and God Bless!

When my daughter was little we found a rock in the aquarium stuff that was by the Christmas decorations. We put a beautiful pink bow on the rock and on Christmas morning said it was her present. Her expression was so funny. She wasn’t mad, she just had a WTH look on her face. For the next 20 years the rock has been under the tree.

Most of my favorite traditions revolve around food, lol. We still use my late Grandma’s recipes even though she’s been gone for 26 years. My Mom is gone this year (we lost her in July) but we will still make some of those old recipes.
