I have been collecting Trading Card Sets since my childhood, in the last few years I have been focusing on sets, that include hand drawn sketch cards as part of the collection. Why? Who wouldn’t want to own a beautiful piece of hand drawn art, by some of the most amazing artists out there? As my collection grows, in addition to collecting I also share the work of talented artists and their work here on A Medic’s World, you can check out some of the artists I have featured here, and viewing for yourself the raw talent that they possess in bringing small pieces of collectible art into the hands of collectors like me.
However, this is the first time I was offered to review a collectible trading card set. The set is called Beauty & The Myth produced by a company called Braiinz Publishing. They are an independent publisher who seeks out artists to create not only the collectible cards in the set, but also the beautiful hand drawn sketch cards that are added to the set. Each set consists of 60+ cards and one collectible one or two hand drawn/colored sketch card.
The box I received looked incredible from the outside to begin with, it had inlaid/impressed lettering that stood out clearly from the Black Background of the Box. As you can see in the picture below it looks quite stunning.
As I was looking through the cards, some stood out more than others as favorites, and I am sharing those few with you below. Each card in itself is a piece of art, but some caught my eye more than others.
Lastly I wanted to share the sketch card I got in the box. This particular sketch had 2 cards, referred to as a 2-card puzzle sometimes. The artist who drew my sketch card is Ramón Padilla. This was a first for me, as I do not have any art of his in my collection prior to now. It is simply a captivating and remarkable piece of hand drawn art as you can see below!
There are different card companies out there making card sets, and each tries to stand out above the rest. I feel that Braiinz Publishing has done just that with the Beauty & The Myth trading card set. I sure hope to see more from this company in the future, and can’t wait to see what they produce next. Be sure to check out their Facebook and Twitter page as well!
So how do you get a box of your own, with your very own one of kind hand drawn piece of art, visit their website here, and pick up a set for $38 + $8 S/H. You can buy more than one box, but with a limited run of 1000 boxes, and most of those gone, head on over now so you don’t miss a chance to own your own set. ~Tom
