So the day had come, for the project to commence. This is my story of how this came to be, and how Waste Management’s Bagster Dumpster in a Bag helped make this project possible. Let’s begin with a little back story on how Project “eBay Room” came to be. In the past 15 years or so, I have been collecting items that I think one day will sell well on eBay. I have found some of these items in thrift stores, hobby stores, closeout places like Marc’s and Big Lots, yard sales, and regular stores like K-mart, Walmart, and Target.
So we built our current house about 7 years ago, and I lived with my wife in the one she bought prior to that for 5 years, until we decided to build our own, and truly make it ours. One of the best decisions that we made. However, I got lazy, like 7 years lazy, and the “eBay Room” kept getting more stuff added to it, monthly, weekly, sometimes daily. Then it started to overflow into another room, that is when I said that is it, and had to finally work on this. Almost 15 years of collectibles, products, and items that were needing to be organized and this is where the Bagster Bag came through.
I was provided a Bagster Bag and a complimentary pick up of the bag for free for the purpose of this review, and project. I received no other compensation, and the opinions are mine, and I only share things that I truly like, and that others would benefit from.
So what did the room look like when we started?
So we got to work. First off I want to thank my wife, Michelle, for taking 3 days off to help me do this. Secondly, I want to thank Waste Management for the opportunity to review the Bagster Bag that made this project a success.
We didn’t want a metal dumpster, especially on our property, The Bagster bag’s strength and durability make it a great alternative for projects that don’t require a full-sized dumpster, and The Bagster service costs 50-70% less than a dumpster rental in many areas, making it a great alternative for those medium-sized projects that don’t require a full-sized dumpster.
With confidence in the Bagster Bag growing, it is good to know it can take on the following:
- Up to 3,300 lb
- 20 30-Gallon Trash Bags
- 1,280 SQ FT of Hardwood Flooring
- 47 Sheets of Drywall
- 900 SQ FT of Carpet or Tile
These are just a few example of what type of materials can fit in this bag, for our purposes, we had alot of broken down cardboard boxes, and just normal bags of trash that had open boxes, broken items, and things like the plastic from the shelving we bought for the room. With the Bagster bag holding up to 3,300 pounds or 3 cubic yards of waste and debris, most jobs or projects you take on, can be accomplished. Here are some other project ideas you can do:
- Renovations & Remodeling (e.g., kitchen renovations, bathroom remodels, basement refinishing, home additions)
- Big Home Cleanups (e.g., cleaning up or clearing out the garage, basement, or attic)
- Fence & Window Replacements
- Flooring & Carpet Replacements
- Moving Preparation
- Concrete or Stone Work (e.g., patio replacements, hardscapes)
- Roofing Projects
- Emergency Restoration (e.g., water, flood, fire, or storm damage repair and cleanup)
The tagline for The Bagster Bag truly does fit: BUY the Bagster bag at your local home improvement store, FILL it with up to 3,300 pounds of debris, schedule and pay for collection—and it’s GONE! and it fits it Dumpster in a Bag description as well.
So here are some final pictures of the room coming along, organizing everything now is the focus, but without the help of Waste Management’s Bagster Dumpster in a Bag none of this would have been possible. I will have a few follow up articles and pictures on the final progress of the room, but for the most part, it is on its way!
I uploaded a video to You Tube about the collection process, when I called to schedule they said it can take 1-3 business days to get your Bagster picked up, so please factor that into your project timeline. Luckily for me, I got a call that night, that it would be picked up the next day. They give you a window of 6am-8pm for pickup, and they came at 7:30am, I almost missed getting a video of it, because it was so early. But I did, and here it is below:
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Wow…you must have been reading my mind. I saw a commercial the other day for this…and I commented to my husband what a great idea that would be for us! We moved 6 years ago into a house without a basement, so our small two car garage is filled with “stuff”. Between my daughter’s stuff from college and our stuff that we don’t know what to do with…this is perfect! I’m glad you posted the video, because I couldn’t visualize the pick-up process!
This will be a must for us for our fall cleaning project: THE GARAGE!!!
Thanks for this review!

We used this product approximately 2-3 years ago. We redid our own roof (very large and steep), needed a dumpster but didn’t want to pay a daily rate on a metal one. We got 2 of these, as to not overload, and were quite pleased. More people should utilize these.

I agree, the metal ones stain the driveway or ruin the grass, These are easier to hall away. Thanks for your thoughts! Tom.

Great review! It looks like you’ve got a lot done with your ebay room. I too had a room like that once! I like how the WM guy put his hard hat on after he realized he was being filmed. Maybe he wasn’t required to wear it until he lifted the bag and it was just a coincidence, but I found it funny anyhow lol

Went back and watched it after you said this, you are right. Maybe he knew it would get published!

That’s so much better than have a huge dumpster dropped into your driveway when you don’t need something that huge. My garage needs a thorough cleaning and this would be a huge help and keep me from having to make trips to the dump
Tamra Phelps says
That is one huge bag! I had never heard of this. Thanks!
