When I first heard about the pressy button and what it could do, I will say the very first thing I wanted to set was being able to use my Samsung Galaxy 4’s Camera, quickly, and with easier use than I was doing now. With this button I can now do that. So let’s check out the rest of the review and see what we can learn.
I never like to lie to my readers, and fans, so I will have to say initially I was going to only give the Pressy 3 out of 5 stars, so why the change? I finally figured out how to get the pressy button to do what I was wanting it to do from the very beginning! I will explain more below.
I was given a Pressy Button for the purpose of this review, opinions are definitely mine, and I hope you share yours too. So when I got it, the first thing I wanted to set it for was taking an instant photo, without needing to use the camera app, or have to bypass my pin locked log in screen on my phone. At first I couldn’t figure out how to do it without the security lock being off on the phone, so that is what I did, I got rid of my pin log in, and sure enough I was able turn on the camera with a couple quick presses of the Pressy Button. Awesome I thought, but then I kept thinking to myself, isn’t there a way to just have it take a quick photo without having to do all of that, and then I saw the setting I had missed on the Pressy App. You should have been there, I think I heard bells go off in my head, when I said “Aha!!!” and happiness ensued. The best thing yet of it, I don’t even need to have the security pin setting turned off to do it. So my phone could be in standby, in lock mode, and with the press of a couple buttons, Viola!!! instant picture taking. I so am a geek, huh?
The drawback to this, you have to hope you have the right angle, orientation etc… because it is just that quick, no preview, just snaps, and closes. One feature I would have also like to have seen with regards to taking pictures, was being able to use the Pressy Button as a type of shutter, to be able to take multiple pictures while the camera app was open without having to hit the on screen “take picture button”. That said, I do enjoy that not only can you have Pressy take a quick photo with a sequence of short/medium/long button presses, you can program it to open the camera with a different set of press sequences.
One of the first things it is programmed with out of the box is being able to turn on your android phone’s flashlight feature with the use of one short press, very handy when you don’t want to stub your toes in the middle of the night when having to get up.
So what are some of the other things you can set/do with the Pressy Button? Just a few ideas:
- Start Voice Recording
- Check into Social Networks
- Turn Flashlight on or off
- Toggle your Wifi/Bluetooth Connection
- Many more.
So there are a couple of negatives:
- You won’t be able to use S-Voice on Samsung Devices
- You may have to disable Google Voice Search on your device as well.
- There are occasional times where you may sense a lag, it is performing the same functions you would have for that same application.
Overall Impression: I do believe it has many more pluses than it does negatives. So that makes is a plus for me to own. Mine is still on my Samsung Galaxy S4, and I will continue to use mine. Want to see if your Android Device is compatible check out this list here.

I love gadgets too, so this is kind of cool. I think I would like to give it a whirl. Not too bad of a price either and with my Amazon credit I can get it today woohoo!

This would be a handy little device to have. There are quite a few things I would be able to set this up for to avoid having to get my glasses on to open up an app. I’ve missed so many picture opportunities because it takes me so long to open the camera on my phone. I’m going to seriously look into getting this gem.

I usually feel clueless about this kind of item, but this sounds pretty neat. It would be nice to try out, I think.
