While it is nice to have one designated day for it, Veteran’s should be honored daily for the sacrifices they have made, and what they have given us for little in return. A Veteran myself, I am proud to say I served my Country with Pride and Dignity. I even went to Desert Storm/Shield and while I was fortunate to get to come home, many did not, as well with all those who have served before and since. It is their memories that should be honored, and remembered. So if you see a Veteran, thank them, take time out of your day, to make theirs. You will be surprised how many will feel overwhelmed that you took time to do that.

I think it is great that so many of these eating establishments, take a special day to thank our veterans, I think we should thank a veteran or any military man when we met them, have you ever paid it forward to a military couple in a restaurant, it is a great feeling to see a guy or gal in fatigues or Uniform and annomously pay their bill or apply money towards it, military families are hard pressed for extra cash and it is another way to say thank you.
First of all, I just want to say thank you for your service! I love that you put this list together. I’ll have to share it with my Grandpa who serve in the Marines and loves his Texas Roadhouse. 🙂
I completed my last internship for occupational therapy at the VA San Diego and absolutely LOVED working with all the veterans. They all had such great hearts and a wonderful sense of humor. One gentleman, who was a POW during the Vietnam War, told me, “I don’t know what’s worse, the torture I received from the Japanese or your therapy.” We both laughed hysterically, but deep down, I had so much respect and admiration for him. His opening up to me about his experiences really touched me.
I can’t thank you and other veterans enough! I hope you enjoy your free meals and treats tomorrow!
