I am so starting to fall in love with subscription boxes. Why? because it can be such a surprise every month of what you get. The fine folks over at Nerd Block allowed me to recently review two different categories of the ones that they sell. Which ones did I do? I tried the original Nerd Block Subscription Box, and the Horror Block Subscription Box. They also have the following: Arcade Block, and the Nerd Block Jr. for both boys and girls.
Nerd Block Box
So if you have never ordered a subscription box before, or even if you are a seasoned pro, this box will surely be filled with a little bit of everything, that should appeal to the nerd or geek inside of you. Whether it is a T-Shirt, an action figure, some novelty items, or an exclusive comic book, this box will surprise you monthly and will be a little like Christmas each month.
I think my favorite item out of this box, has to be the Sonic Screwdriver T-Shirt. I am a huge Doctor Who fan, and with sizes up to 4x, this was by far the thing that made me smile the most out of this particular box. Also pictured, is a pen and bookmark from The Hobbit, and it is shaped like Gandalf’s Staff. Find Nerd Block on Facebook and Twitter as well.
Horror Block Box
Much like the Nerd Box that is offered, the Horror Block Subscription Box features items that cater to the horror fan in all of us. Again it can be a T-Shirt, novelty items, a collectible action figure, comic book, or whatever else they can come up with for that month.
While the Horror Block Box contained two T-Shirts, the Good Guy doll one from the Child’s Play movies was the better of the two. I know Living Dead Dolls are quite popular, so for those that like this series, the little collectible in the box was a nice touch.
Of the two, I think I liked the Classic Nerd Block Box the best. Maybe my mind would change if I was able to see another Horror Block Box, but I am sure your mileage will vary month to month on what you get. If you are interested in signing up for either of these boxes, be sure to visit the main site here, and check out how you can get subscribed, and begin getting something different each month for you to enjoy. ~Tom
