I was trying to think of a creative way to open this review, but I am still stunned and amazed on how awesome the Firefly Monopoly is from USAopoly. Let me first say that yes I was provided a copy of the game for the purpose of this review, and yes I have to share with you that all my opinions are my own. If you know me well enough, I love Firefly. So it is important to point out, that my opinion of this game as great as it is, is still not biased by getting it for free.
Okay, now with that out of the way, let’s move on to the heart of it. I love this game! Oh my goodness, did USAopoly get it right with this one! They have captured the Firefly Universe and put it into a game of Monopoly. It still looks like Monopoly, plays like Monopoly, but with the awesome and fantastic Firefly theme thrown in.

So let’s break it down a little. You get:
- The Playing Field itself, with iconic planets from within the Firefly Universe.
- Firefly Money, which has some of the traditional Multi-verse logos on it.
- The Deeds to all the Locations on the Board.
- Gorram and Shiny! Cards that replace Chance and Community Chest
- 6 Collectible zinc tokens: Alliance Gunship, Thunderbird-Class Surveyor, Reaver Ship, Serenity, I.A.V. Dortmunder, Brutus
- Houses are named Settlements and Hotels are named Towns
The goal is to have as much ‘Verse money in the end after trying to capture as many planets as you can and putting settlements and towns on them. I love everything about this game, from the collectible tokens, to the art on the game board, they even have an “ambulance ship” card to replace one of the railroads in the original monopoly, as a Paramedic I really love that addition to the game. My overall thoughts? Wait, you haven’t went to order this game yet? Why not? If you are a die-hard Firefly Fan, or you know one, this has to end up in your or their collection.
