The Best 10 Non-Sport Sets of 2015 Are – from Non-Sport Update

Non-Sport Sets are a wonderful way to get people excited about collecting.

Non-Sport Sets like those of TV Shows like Arrow and Game of Thrones, Movies like Avengers:  The Age of Ultron and Star Wars, and collectible card sets like Halloween 2 and Classic Fairy Tales are becoming more popular for the inserts, swatch cards, autographs, and custom sketch cards that you can collect.

During the last two weeks of December, we (Non-Sport Update) asked blog readers to vote for the best Non-Sport sets of 2015. A total of 73 sets were listed and voters were allowed to nominate write-in votes (Breygent Marketing’s Bates Motel Season 1 came out just a day or two after we compiled the list and received numerous votes). Readers could choose up to five sets and were asked to select products they felt were executed well, rather than their favorites. You need not be The Great Carnac to predict Star Wars would come out high on this year’s list. And you might guess Marvel and DC related properties would do well too. They almost always do. Releases from non-sport mainstays Topps, Rittenhouse, Cryptozoic and Breygent generally fair well. But this year’s contest was dominated by Perna Studios. The company simply ran away with the prize. They released just two sets this year and both of them combined to deliver a one-two KO to companies much larger in staff and sales, so a major kudos to Perna Studios’ Tony and Elaine Perna!
