Let me start off by saying, I love Marriott properties when it comes to places to stay when my wife and I travel. We always stay at the Courtyard Marriott when we stay on the Canada side in Niagara Falls. We love staying there, and for the past 14 years or so, have never had a major issue that we can think of, love the location which is close to everything, and have always had a great relationship with the staff.
However, our latest stay at the Marriott Residence Inn located in Beachwood, Ohio was not that pleasant. It started with a comedy of errors that continued throughout our one night stay. My wife had a corporate outing on the east side of Cleveland, so we decided to stay the night, and visit The Container Store the next day since we were nearby before going home.

When we got to our room, we had noticed it was a little warm, so we turned on the air conditioner to cool the room down. Within minutes, every 15 seconds or so, we heard a loud noise coming from the unit. We called down to the front desk and they sent someone up to the room to investigate the problem. When the maintenance employee says he could hear it from the hallway, imagine what we heard. Doug who was very courteous and sympathetic, with the help of his assistant replaced the entire air conditioning unit in our room. After the replacement was done, the noise was gone, and we thanked him for his time.
The picture above was from the Bath Tub Surface. While we couldn’t see if any of it would come up or off, it was just an unsightly picture when it came to staying at a place like this.
Problems in the shower continued, as we encountered an enormous amount of standing water in the tub as we took our individual showers.
Lastly, as if all of this didn’t happen already, and we weren’t standing in water as we showered, the shower handle came right off! Making it very difficult to get it back on, and get the temperature set for the shower.
We began to leave the room and head down to check out from our one night stay. My wife was coming down the staircase when she noticed this.
While I will say that we did get to lay our heads down for the evening. It was a stay that was filled with elements that will question if we will stay at this particular Marriott Property again.

For as expensive as Marriot is,I would have been going ballistic. We rarely travel, and when we do get to stay at a motel, we expect everything to work. I certainly would have called corporate, been tweeting and facebooking them until it was resolved.

This is something you’d not expect from a bigger National brand like Marriott!
They definitely need to take this one under their wing and make sure they look Great, feel Great, and make every stay Great.
I am driving miles away from this one!

Yes, that is unacceptable especially for the Marriott! We usually stay at Marriott if possible but i know they are not all ran the same unfortunately. I’ve had bad hotel nights too, the last time i took my 5 year old son to the pool which had dead frogs but i cleaned the pool and a maid came and started yelling at my son with me standing there. He was holding onto the bars, not hurting anything he was just looking what was behind the gate. I tried to talk to management but didn’t act like they cared, they said that’s just how she was. We had air problems too so i left a bad review on that particular location and won’t ever stay there again!
