When it comes to finding an ergonomic pen, meaning one that fits well and performs in a way that benefits and enhances the way we write, I have to say the UGLee Pen steps up and gives you one of the most comfortable writing utensils I have seen in a long time.
I was given an opportunity to review the UGLee pen, and wanted to share what I have found with you. When you first see it, or even pick it up, you are thinking to yourself, I am never going to write with this, but after awhile, and using it more and more, you find the benefits of the pen, outweigh how the pen looks.
If you are prone to getting hand cramps from writing too much, or someone who wants to avoid that issue in the near future then this might be the pen that you are destined to own. As a Paramedic, I have written many an EMS Report over the 23 years that I had been doing that. While some departments have gone to digital and tablet processing, most of us in the Safety force are still required to do it the old fashioned way, why not give your hand a break sometimes and use something that is much more comfortable, and will be better for you over the years. Another nice thing about the pen in addition to the soft gel body of it, is that I think it will be easy to keep a hold of it, working in conditions based on weather, fatigue of the day, just something solid to be able to grip onto in the worst of work conditions. This would also be great for Police Officers, Nurses, Firefighters, and students who prefer taking notes the traditional way without a computer.
Speaking of students, I think this would be a great pen for them to use at school, especially if you have children complaining of hand cramps while taking notes, or doing homework, this might help alleviate some of those concerns. Designed by a Doctor with everyone in mind, the UGLee Pen really seems to fill a void where ergonomic writing is concerned.
The review pen I received was a yellow pen body with blue ink. While the color of the body of the pen (although I simply love red) was not that much of a concern, reviewing the product with blue ink was not my nominal choice. I personally and this has nothing to do with the design and features of the pen, do not like writing with blue ink, never did, even as a kid, always had to have black ink if I had a choice. With that in mind, it still wrote smoothly as I used it, and only in a couple of instances I found that it seemed to need help getting going with the flow of the ink, I used an old envelope to get it started but that only happened twice. The pen was comfortable, and gave me the confidence that holding it for an extended period of time would not be a problem.
They do have a selection of pen body colors, to choose from, and you can buy replacement packs of ink refills in quantities of 10, in red/black/blue colors. You can order your own from the website here UgleePen.com , or you can also buy yourself a pen from Amazon if you have gift cards like me by going here.
My overall thoughts:
- Comfort: 5 out of 5 Stars
- Ease of Use: 5 out of 5 Stars
- Recommend to a friend: 5 out of 5 Stars
- Flow of Ink: 4 out of 5 Stars
- Overall: 5 out of 5 Stars

I really want to get some of these UGLee Pens for my seven year old grandson, he has such a hard time with writing utensils – his hand cramps badly. These sound like they may help him.

I need to get my oldest son a couple of these. All through school he has had to use an “AlphaSmart”, I think it’s called. Kind of a keyboard where he could type in his classwork. He would get so intent and physical energy into using a pen or pencil that there was little left over for thought.
