Over the years I have become obsessed with storage options, and collecting USB Flash Drives of all things. I have a pretty good collection from normal ones, on up to comic book styled, or characters in history themed ones as well. While I will probably never use all of them (again, why I collect), a few I use more than others. I was given an opportunity to review the following Pen Drive, and I am sharing with you below what I found.
So while reviewing this particular flash drive, it is just one of the many Tmart USB Flash Drives from Tmart.com . I found that here was yet another one to not only collect, but actually use. The flash drive pen came loosely packaged in a zip-lock small bag, with just the bar code and item number on it, so no fancy packaging, but to save you money, and keep costs down, I could see how this would be a viable option. (This is a USB 2.0 flash drive)
It was easy to assemble, and there are no tricks to it. The top part of the pen with the pointed end on it, which also contains the flash drive, just slides into the base, and with a simple twist locks in place to not fall out. The pen part was easy to use, with a simple twist of the base and voila you are ready to write. The ink is black, which I am glad, but if you need to change it, or when it runs out, it looks like it would be easy enough to replace, just take the insert with you to the office store, and make sure you get the right size. It is not as heavy as I thought it was going to be, which is a good thing, especially if you are carrying it around with you everywhere you go. While I have not found a use for the blue pointed top, I tried it lightly on my Samsung S4, and no results, I am sure it would have a purpose one day. Again, I like that the top of the pen is threaded so that you are not fearful of it falling out when you got to use it.
My final thoughts? If you are a true geek, you will love this! I can see keeping this with me in my laptop bag, or just right on my desk to use for simple back-ups and storage for on the go. To some with smaller hands it may feel a slight bulky at the top, but again if you can get past that, I have large hands so it doesn’t concern me as much, then I think it will be a hit. If you are interested in getting one of your own, you can get that here 16GB Pointed Pen Style USB Flash Drive (even if you don’t like this one, they have many others, just follow the link) and they offer free worldwide shipping which is pretty awesome. It’s regular price for 16GB is $17.38, but for the next 3 days, they are having a sale, and its down to $15.64, and again free shipping. A pretty good deal to pass up. I do love tmart.com, they do offer a variety of things to sell for gadget junkies like me! Opinions are my own, and expressed with no influence based on getting the product to review, I only share what I feel is good for this site, and its readers! Thanks again, for being here. Tom.

This is a good deal. I’m looking for a flash drive that my computer will accept for readyboost. The FD I had bought my computer won’t accept. A long time ago, I think I had a Duracell that worked for readyboost. I wonder if this one would work for this purpose?

Hi Rosie, I am not sure. While this is a great item, I am not sure for certain. Have a great day! Tom.

Thanks for posting this. I didn’t know they made a drive that is disguised as a pen. This would be great to keep at the office.

Thanks for posting this. I didn’t know they made a drive you can disguise as a pen. I would love to have this and will be looking to get one in the near future. It would be so convenient to always have my flashdrive with me and a pen at the same time!

True. I thought it was a neat idea myself!

The price is definitely right, and I like that it doesn’t look like a flash drive. I don’t need to hide mine, but in the event you want to, it’s just a pen!

I know. It seems practical for a lot of people.

I think I’d prefer this to be a stylus with the flash drive. I doubt I’d use it as a pen.
I do think it’s neat, though.
