I very rarely find organizations I stand behind when it comes to support, but I find myself drawn to this one for the mission that is serves. There are a handful of agencies that I support, this will be one of those I do in the future. Who are they? They are Wags 4 Warriors, helping veterans adjust with the help of service dogs trained and provided to veterans at no cost to them.
Visiting their website will provide more answers, but with the help of donations they take dogs from several local animal rescue organizations, and pair the shelter dog with an appropriate Veteran. They provide all of the training, equipment, and support to train the dogs to become the Veteran’s Service Dog at no cost to the Veteran.
The service dogs can be trained for all kinds of tasks to help the Veteran get through the day. Veterans that are Service Connected for PTSD or TBI or many other service connected disabilities may be eligible for the program.
The program is based out of Northeast Ohio, close to where I live, another proud reason to share and support them, I have made my donation to their cause, and you can to through their site. I employ you to take a look at their site here and consider donating a small amount, or contact them on other things you can donate to help keep the dogs going like Collars, leashes, treat bags, clickers , chew toys, bones, and cages. So if you are looking to make a difference and support Veterans, and help rescue dogs in the process, then take a look at Wags 4 Warriors and see how you can give a lending hand. You can also find them on Facebook as well, head on over give them a like, and share the page!
Being a Veteran, I love good things like this, programs that allow others to benefit from the help of others to allow them to re-adjust back to society and deal with everyday things. So I salute the efforts being made, made my donation from A Medic’s World, and will try to become more involved with this myself, to see what I can do to help fellow Veterans. ~Tom
