I wanted to start a new feature here at A Medic’s World, and feature Paramedic’s from around the world every Monday, here on the site. So far I had only one nomination, but hope that will change with the posting of this article here today. Want to know how you can nominate a Medic? Visit this article here, to find out. ~Tom
So let’s not hesitate anymore and thank the following Paramedic for what he does, and sacrifices to give his best to all he comes across everyday. As a former Paramedic, I thank him, and thank the person who nominated them.
Date: Monday – 8/31/2015
Nominee: (Rick) Richard Harrison
Nominated by: Wanted to stay Anonymous
Where he works: Lander County EMS in Nevada
How long as a Medic: 20 years+
You know those medics that have been around and have treated almost every kind of patient? That’s Rick. Not only does he embodied the knowledge of a world class medic but he is the most kind medic with his patients. From ground to air, Rick is well known around northern Nevada for his talent and heart. He has taught many of his counterparts what it really means to be a paramedic. I have seen Rick sit with a little Ole lady talking about the weather and grand-kids and then switch over to pulling a patient out of a totaled car. He has hiked up the desolate mountains of Nevada to help a hurt hiker and comforted a plethora of Burning Man bunnies and bikers. If we could all have just a little of Ricks character and compassion with each patient interaction, we would have a better world.
Some wonderful words said from the person who nominated them. Why not take time to leave a comment, and thank him for the work he does as well? Want to nominate someone? Do that here. ~Tom

Congratulations to Rick Lander of Lander County EMS in Nevada. Word-class skills, kindness and humility are traits we all can respect. I don’t know Rick personally, but he definitely sounds like the kind of person and medic I would want to know. Keep up the great work!
Again, congratulations!
