Okay, I have a small addiction. I love subscription boxes. I said it. You can judge me if you would like, but they are so awesome to get every month, and you never know what can be inside!
I was offered an opportunity by Bam Box to review one of these, and I have to say, I still love the excitement and anticipation to find out what you will get inside.
I received the August box themed “Crazy”. It surely fit that category as it had a plastic Hannibal Lecter Mask, it also contained a recreation from the 1995 movie “Se7en” with a small barbie doll head in a box, answering the question “What’s in the box?”. If you have seen the movie you get it, if not, go buy the movie here and watch it for yourself.
You don’t see exclusive 45 EP’s with songs on it from the recently released animated movie Batman: The Killing Joke usually in a subscription box, but that is exactly what I got when I opened this box. I was pleasantly surprised.
Now, as things were coming out of the box, I was finding more and more things that I liked. One of them was the Harley Quinn Comic Book. Bam Box secured of the largest stockpiles of Harley Quinn Comics to distribute in the August Box. Some of which included variants, exclusives and hard to find covers.
Also in the box was a “Harley” art print as portrayed in the movie Suicide Squad by artist Jason Oakes. The one I got was the colored version, there was a chance to get one of 250 Sketch variant versions, but I sadly did not get one of those. They were numbered and signed.
So far so good. But the top thing in the box that I got, was the Signed Katana Photo from the actress herself that played her, Karen Fukuhara from the movie Suicide Squad. This was a chance to own and found in 1:2 boxes. The version I received is below, and it was nice to see in the box.
I loved some of the variety that I saw in the box. While I received the one I reviewed for free in hopes to write this review, I still enjoyed writing it, and seeing what was inside. I think it is something that with time I could enjoy more if I had a subscription to the Bam Box. I was only given one box, so knowing if this is something I could commit to is hard to gauge right now. I was kind of sad that I did not get a hand drawn sketch card from the talented artist Bianca Thompson in the box I received. I own quite a few pieces of her art in my collection, was really crossing my fingers in hopes of getting one of the unique and one of a kind hand drawn art pieces that was released for this box.
You can check out Bianca Thompson here on Facebook and Twitter. Want to see all the times I featured her here on my site? Just click here to see some of her amazing work!
I just finished up a subscription with a competitor of Bam Box and got to review them monthly for the past year. I am hoping Bam Box might extend the same offer, so I can review them more here on my site. Hoping for maybe an ambassadorship type offer.
So BamBox, next move is yours, would love to review this for the next year or so and start doing some unboxing videos on Youtube. Just let me know. ~Tom
If you like surprises each month, if you like geeky items, TV and Movie related items, and items you can’t find anywhere else, then a subscription box like this would be great for you, or get this as a gift idea for someone you love.
