I am a big fan of vintage TV, and some of the original hosts that use to bring us cheesy, and often horrible movies, but we watched them anyways because they were entertaining and the TV hosts would make them fun, have skits, and generally just steal the show.
I grew up with Elvira, The Ghoul, and local hosts like Super Host who lasted 20 years, and Big Chuck and Houlihan, which eventually changed to Big Chuck and Little John. Super Host and Big Chuck and Little John were in Cleveland, Ohio where I grew up.
There are those of us who will never forget those hosts, and those who are inspired to continue the tradition that has preceded them. The Mummy and The Monkey come to mind when that subject is brought up. They are a duo who truly love the industry and wants to entertain all those who watch them. You can check them out on their Facebook page here.
They are going to be at Cinema Wasteland this year which is running from September 30th – October 2nd. You should stop by as they are going to be traveling the room and having a table to maybe get some photo ops with and have a chance to meet them. The duo of Janet Decay as The Mummy and Grimm Gori as The Monkey will be a delight to meet and find out what is going on about their show, and all the events they have planned.
The event is being held at the location below, if you plan to travel in, you can call and reserve a room. Might be a good idea, with all the stuff planned at the 3 day show.

I personally know The Monkey! I grew up with him as a kid, and I am proud to call him my friend. I need to get together with him more, and I am hoping to find a way to attend the show this year to do just that. I also know The Mummy through association as of late, hope to meet her for the first time as well.
You have to check it out. The Cinema Wasteland Event will be hosting quite a few guests from things you know like some of The Evil Dead cast, and guests who played characters in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, and more.
You’ll find movies and shorts on real 16mm film in their 200 seat “Film Room” where you fill find vintage “Drive-in” type Horror and Sci-Fi movies playing all weekend, all free with the price of admission.
They will also have booths and tables of vendors selling old and vintage Horror and Sci-Fi movies, Toys, and Collectibles as well.
As a blogger, I would love to attend the event, but I just can’t afford it for me and my wife. Would love to cover this as a PR event soon, or in coming years.
So have you ever been to it? Are you going back this year? What other type of events like this do you attend, or do you attend ones like this near you? Share your thoughts below.

Oh, that would be fun. I loved Elvira, etc., when I was young. I wish I was near there.
